Priyanka Chopra on Fashion Avenue Quarterly

A new publication claiming to be "the first and the only international Asian fashion magazine" has launched in the UK.

The magazine known as FAQ (Fashion Avenue Quarterly) is published by Purple Patch Media (UK) and is the first magazine that celebrates and promotes haute couture from India, the Middle East, Pakistan and the UK, in one.

Founded in 2003, Lahore, Pakistan, FAQ is the brainchild of dynamic duo Tahir and Yasir Saeed. Together they took the publishing world by storm and within a year of launching, FAQ was at pole position amongst its competitors.

FAQ stood out not only in size, steering away from most magazines which were a standard A4; FAQ at the time was an impressive A3 in size.

Tahir Saeed, Managing Director of Purple Patch Media has an MBA and also holds a Masters in Media Management from the University of Westminster, London. He is catapulting FAQ to an international level with distribution planned in more than five countries.

"We have specifically targeted the Eastern regions but at the same time we want to promote designers and photographers of Ethnic origin, who are based in the UK. We want designers and photographers from these regions to be a part of our success story and in essence we want to be a part of theirs. FAQ is a magazine for all talented designers and photographers to finally have a definitive platform to exhibit their work." Explains Tahir.

He goes on to say, "There is no magazine in the current market that amalgamates haute couture from India, Pakistan, the Middle East and the UK. All the people featured in FAQ are either from those regions or are designing and working within them. There is so much to express and Asian/Middle Eastern designers have come a long way - FAQ wants to celebrate them."

The first international edition of FAQ will see former Miss World and successful Bollywood actress, Priyanka Chopra on the cover.

"We went with Priyanka because she is an extremely well groomed and stylish woman and very much a style icon" Explains Tahir.

FAQ magazine is currently available in all major cities of UK, Pakistan and India. The retail price is £4.50 for UK, Rs. 450 for Pakistan and Rs. 550 for India.

FAQ's launch will be followed by a series of events and PR activities after the month of Ramadan starting in September 2010.

The next issue of FAQ will be coming out in September 2010.
